1. What Domio is

Domio is software, made by Domio ("we"), that a housing society uses to manage its flats, residents, bills, payments, visitors, complaints, notices, staff and meters. We provide the software and keep it running. The society provides the information in it and decides how it is used.

2. Two kinds of user

A society is our customer: the registered society, association, builder or management company that subscribes and pays. A resident or staff member is a person the society has given a login to. Sections 3 to 6 are mainly about societies; sections 7 to 9 apply to everyone.

3. The subscription

  • The society is billed monthly, in advance, per flat set up in the system on the first of the month, at the plan price shown on the pricing page or agreed in writing. Prices exclude GST.
  • Invoices are due within the period stated on them. If an invoice stays unpaid after reminders, the society's access may be suspended until it is settled; the data is kept during suspension.
  • Either side can end the subscription at any time by written notice. Billing stops from the next month. See the refund and cancellation policy.
  • We may change prices with thirty days' notice by email to the society's contact address.

4. Payments made through Domio

When residents pay bills online, the money is collected by a payment gateway account that belongs to the society and settles to the society's bank. We do not hold, route, or take a share of these payments. Gateway fees are set by the gateway and charged to the society by the gateway. A bill is marked paid only when the gateway confirms the payment to us. Refunds of a resident's payment are the society's decision and are made through the gateway.

5. The society's responsibilities

  • To have the right to enter its residents' information, and to tell residents that it uses Domio.
  • To keep its committee and staff logins safe and to remove them when people leave.
  • To use its own payment gateway account and keep its keys confidential; we store them encrypted but cannot control who the society shares them with.
  • To check bills before they go out. Domio calculates what the society has configured; the society is responsible for the charges it sets.
  • Not to use Domio for anything unlawful, or to store anything in it that it has no right to store.

6. Data and ownership

Everything the society and its residents put into Domio belongs to the society. We use it only to provide the service, as the privacy policy describes. The society can export its data at any time. When a subscription ends, we keep the data for thirty days so an export can be taken, then delete it.

7. Your account

Your login is yours alone. Keep your password to yourself and tell your society if you think someone else has it. You may only look at and change information you are entitled to; a resident sees their own flat, a staff member sees what their role allows. Trying to reach anything else is a breach of these terms.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use Domio to harass anyone, to post anything unlawful or abusive in a complaint or a notice, to interfere with the service, or to try to get around its security. A society may suspend a login that breaks these rules, and so may we.

9. The app

The Domio app is licensed to you, not sold, for use on your own devices with the society that invited you. You may not copy it, take it apart, or distribute it. We may release updates and may require an update before the app continues to work, for example to fix a security problem.

10. Availability and support

We aim to keep Domio available at all times and take backups daily, but no online service is available every second. Planned maintenance is done at quiet hours and announced in advance where possible. Support is by email and, on plans that include it, by phone and WhatsApp, during Indian business hours.

11. What we are not responsible for

We provide the software with care, but we are not a party to the relationship between a society and its residents. We are not responsible for the accuracy of what a society enters, for the decisions a society makes, for a payment gateway's performance, or for a resident's device or internet connection. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to a society in any twelve months is limited to the subscription fees it paid us in those twelve months, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost time or lost data that the society could have exported.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email the society's contact address and show a notice in the panel at least fifteen days before it takes effect.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in the city where Domio is registered have jurisdiction, and both sides agree to try to settle a disagreement by talking first.
